okay so this past weekend we drove about 2hours away to a city called Butare. It is the SW district. There the district had a children's ministry seminary where i taught. It was good and i enjoyed being with the leaders of the district.
The drive there was beautiful. It almost seemed as if we were driving through a country town in the US. Maybe TN or SC. There were lots of trees and crops. Lots of houses in the middle of nowhere without electricity or water. I often wonder how people do it... walk everyday for water but that is what the know and they probably don't know any different. especially the children. it is not uncommon to see young kids probably 3 or 4 carrying water jugs. or carrying veggies to sell at the market. a different sight for sure.
The hotel was decent. It had 2 beds and a bathroom. Spencer downloaded Extreme makeover home edition so that night at the hotel we watched it. This is our families favorite show. We all sat on the bed and boohooed : ) so while we were watching the electricity went out. good thing luke remembered his flashlight. the guy from the restaurant came and let us know that dinner was ready and gave us a candle. what great customer service.
so the only real big issue of the trip was we all had stomach issues. that really wasn't the issue the issue was the church only had an outhouse with a hole in the ground. that was pretty yucky!
so i know i shouldn't have waited this long to post about the trip b/c now i have forgoten everything i wanted to post.
i guess this week i have been a little distracted because I"M PREGNANT. yep that's right .... child #3 is on its way.
pray i find a good doctor and everything goes well. also that the kids won't drive us nuts about it. Abby wants to listen in my mouth and stick her had down my throat to touch the baby. she is crazy!!
okay all for now and remember... save those taco bell hot sauce packets.... i will probably need them soon...

no title! lol
okay so we are headed out of town this weekend for a children's ministries seminar that i will be speaking at. pray for safe travels and electricity for my PowerPoint :) I would love to show the Jesus Film for children but we need electricity for that too. Originally we had planned to leave today after the kids got out of school but decided to leave on Sat morning instead. This will cut down on expenses and only stay in a hotel one night. The local DS there asked about where we want to stay and spencer made it clear just make sure we have 2 beds and a clean bathroom!!! i would sleep on the floor as long as there are clean bathrooms :)
so if everyone makes it through the day without any sicknesses we are going to a friends house for pizza night. i say that b/c it seems every time we plan something with someone the past couple of weeks someone throws up. glad that is over.... for now
so we are beginning to feel more and more settled. although yesterday i had one of those days where i just wanted to be home. home as in.... a normal home where we didn't have roof leaks, plumbing issues, power outages, bad water pressure and a place where we had stores where we can buy everything in one place, carpet, fast food restaurants for those down days, etc etc etc.....
BUT God is good and he continues to part the waters for us. Daily He gives us his hand to make it through storms (even the roof leaks that are a result of the storms). God is good and we are glad to be here! Today anyways! lol
Did i tell you about our garden? Our guard hired a girl to come and plow the yard for veggies. It is HUGE! i think we will be having veggies growing out our ears. it took her 3 days with a baby on her back. she was amazing! there is no way i could have done what she did. very thankful she did it.
Okay so i am sure i will be posting before spencer leaves but please keep us in your prayers while he travels and the kids and i stay home. He is going to Kenya, DRC, Burundi and 3 districts here in Rwanda for their district assemblies.... All in about 16 days. He leaves on the 25th. Boohoo!
okay all for now i need to go prepare for this weekend and go on a search for some cheese for the pizza.
love all yall and remember... if you seem to be a little competitive when playing soccer stay away from the president's wife hehehehe

lysol and prayer requests
HA so i posted this blog on our family blog.. spencer was happy since it has now become his posting grounds. So if you happen to read our other blog it will say the same thing.lol
i know it has been a while... a week or maybe a few days not sure... time is really going by fast here. Life is so fast here and at the end of the day i have accomplished so little.
So luke threw up 13 times last night and sat on the toilet 3 times. He is much better today so I am hoping for a quick recovery. I have began to wash clothes, sheets and the house now smells like lysol.
I did have a lot planned for today but not any more. Just relaxing before soccer practice tonight. The game is in 2 days and I still need to get my game on. lol
It has been a month since Joyce, spencers mom send a care package. Gosh sure hope it gets here soon since it has our new debit cards in it. Our other ones expired last week. Don't worry we got out enough money to help survive for a while.
Okay so i haven't given you and prayer requests in a while so here we go...
1. I will be teaching a seminar next weekend. Pray it goes well and we travel well to the city. We will be going through mountains so we will be bring the motion meds along :)
2. still waiting on getting the computers and satellites for our district learning centers out of costumes... any day now
3. spencer will be traveling to Kenya, Burunidi, DRC and 3 districts in Rwanda soon for their district assemblies. 16 days.... which is not bad since it was 24 days and some of the time he will be here in Rwanda which means we will see him some.
4. we need some work done on our car... hopefully it will not cost a fortune. thought our car sold in Senegal but the guy is trying to negotiate more. boohoo
5. we still need to hire a night guard...had to let the other one go.
6. praying that we have a team come to work on our compound. we have several roof leaks and other projects that need to be done. having a team will help finance the needs on the property!!
okay better go... love all yall and remember... always untuck your mosquito net when you have a child throwing up...
