okay so this past weekend we drove about 2hours away to a city called Butare. It is the SW district. There the district had a children's ministry seminary where i taught. It was good and i enjoyed being with the leaders of the district.
The drive there was beautiful. It almost seemed as if we were driving through a country town in the US. Maybe TN or SC. There were lots of trees and crops. Lots of houses in the middle of nowhere without electricity or water. I often wonder how people do it... walk everyday for water but that is what the know and they probably don't know any different. especially the children. it is not uncommon to see young kids probably 3 or 4 carrying water jugs. or carrying veggies to sell at the market. a different sight for sure.
The hotel was decent. It had 2 beds and a bathroom. Spencer downloaded Extreme makeover home edition so that night at the hotel we watched it. This is our families favorite show. We all sat on the bed and boohooed : ) so while we were watching the electricity went out. good thing luke remembered his flashlight. the guy from the restaurant came and let us know that dinner was ready and gave us a candle. what great customer service.
so the only real big issue of the trip was we all had stomach issues. that really wasn't the issue the issue was the church only had an outhouse with a hole in the ground. that was pretty yucky!
so i know i shouldn't have waited this long to post about the trip b/c now i have forgoten everything i wanted to post.
i guess this week i have been a little distracted because I"M PREGNANT. yep that's right .... child #3 is on its way.
pray i find a good doctor and everything goes well. also that the kids won't drive us nuts about it. Abby wants to listen in my mouth and stick her had down my throat to touch the baby. she is crazy!!
okay all for now and remember... save those taco bell hot sauce packets.... i will probably need them soon...
